With your gift of a goat to a Rwandan genocide survivor you will transform their life. The goat you donate will go to a household that currently barely survives by subsistence farming, despite their best efforts. Giving livestock is an efficient and effective way of lifting a family out of poverty. In the words of many widows and orphans, "You have given me hope when I had no hope."

Goats are now also being given to girls in Tanzania who are fleeing FGM(female genital mutilation) and forced marriage. With the money they will receive from raising goats, these girls will be able to continue their education. They have all expressed the wish to return to their villages as a nurse or teacher.

The older women who did the "cutting" of the young girls will also be raising goats as a means of income rather than having to practice FGM.

Now more than 2,550 goats and 17 cows purchased!

This goat will literally start a small business.
  • Goats can produce offspring two times a year, having one or two kids each pregnancy.
  • The goats can be bred, sold, or given to another family member or friend.
  • Goats are inexpensive to maintain and produce rich fertilizer which increases the output from farming.

The cash that will be earned may be used to send a child to school, to buy medicine or to help the family in many other ways.

We are a completely volunteer organization that covers all administrative expenses. Every dollar you donate goes to those in need.
